The Audrey Hepburn Story

This animation combines quotes from the biopic The Audrey Hepburn Story, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt as Audrey Hepburn, with a sequence showing Hewitt recreating a dance from one of Hepburn's films. Spinning continuously, the figure becomes caught in a repeated performance of an already fictionalised version of the actress.

The text is taken entirely from the film's script. Rather than using Audrey Hepburn's own words, it uses dialogue imagined by the scriptwriters, presenting an invented private voice for a well-known public figure. I was interested in how biopics create space for audiences to imagine themselves within these constructed narratives, blurring the boundaries between performance, fiction and identity.
