La Pascualita confetti is a set of hand-printed confetti pieces based on the figure of the famous shop mannequin known in Mexico as “La Pascualita”.
The figure is surrounded by folklore and rumour, often described as a preserved corpse bride. One version of the story claims she was the daughter of the shop owner, who died shortly before her wedding in 1930 after a black widow spider bite.
The work reimagines this narrative as celebratory material, shifting between wedding ritual, memorial and myth. The work develops ideas also explored in La Pascualita book, where drawing and text trace how the figure becomes embedded in folklore and speculation.
