La Pascualita is a small artist book combining drawings and fragments of information about the famous shop mannequin known in Mexico as “La Pascualita”.
The figure is surrounded by folklore and rumour, often described as a preserved corpse bride. One version of the story claims she was the daughter of the shop owner, who died shortly before her wedding in 1930 after a black widow spider bite.
The book brings together drawing and text to explore how objects become charged with narrative, belief and speculation over time. This also connects to La Pascualita confetti, where the story is translated into celebratory material.
