Created in collaboration with children at Frankland Place Early Years Centre, Leeds, the mural explored who they looked up to and what they wanted to be when they grew up. The children chose figures ranging from pop stars and wrestlers to everyday occupations, and were photographed posing as their chosen characters.
These photographs, together with the children's own self-portraits, were developed into painted wooden cut-outs installed on the exterior walls of the nursery. Wooden speech bubbles, featuring text written by the children, accompanied the figures.
The mural was completed in 2000 and remained on the building until the Early Years Centre later closed.
