Chisenhale Live Art Residency
This residency was developed in collaboration with pupils from Chisenhale Primary School in response to Tariq Alvi's exhibition The Meaning at Chisenhale Gallery. Through a series of workshops, the pupils experimented with collage, mirrors and moving image to create their own kaleidoscopic films, alongside Bunraku-inspired puppets.
The video shown here documents the kaleidoscope animations created during the residency. The project culminated in a performance and screening for the school, and was accompanied by a family workshop at Chisenhale Gallery, where participants were invited to create kaleidoscopes and wearable mirror-ball costumes inspired by the exhibition.
